The work
What Home & Property Management means.
Home & Property Management is not a list of odd jobs: it is taking operational responsibility for a house while its owner is off the island. Seeing the state it is in, anticipating what is likely to give trouble, arranging whoever needs to come, and answering for the work once it is done.
In practice, the difference for the owner is having one person to call. You are not coordinating cleaners, gardeners, tradespeople, garages and insurers yourself: you speak to MELE, and MELE arranges the rest.
How it works
We check, we report, we coordinate and we verify.
We check
We visit the house as often as agreed and see the state it is really in, so that anything amiss is picked up before it develops or turns into major work.
We report
Every visit is recorded. You receive a clear summary, with photographs and notes whenever something deserves your attention.
We coordinate
We organise contractors, maintenance and whatever else needs doing, so that it can all be handled through one local point of contact.
We verify
Before treating a job as finished, we go and see for ourselves that the work has been carried out properly.
